Part 9: Starlink in the Falklands: 5th September 2024 Select Committee meeting

The previous OpenFalklands post discussed the first Falkland Islands Government Select Committee concerning the Starlink Petition. It can be found here: Starlink in the Falklands Part 8: First meeting of the Starlink Select Committee.

On August 28th, 2024, just a few days before the second Select Committee meeting on the 5th of September 2024, Sure announced several revised Internet access packages, notably two entirely new ones.

The two new packages represent a significant change for Sure Falkland Islands, providing UNLIMITED packages with no monthly quotas attached.

The Starlink Select Committee has published the agenda for its next meeting on September 5th. At this meeting, the committee will review the written and oral submissions made to it. The submissions can be read below, but be warned: They are 120 pages long. You can download them on the link below.

    Do we know what the next steps will be from here? Or timelines on a decision one way or the other?
